Green Drinks: Sustainability and Social Justice Discussion Part 2

Join us this month at Fire n Spice to further our discussion from last month surrounding sustainability and social justice with Kurt Love! We’ll be focusing on peace, social justice, and sustainable societies. Last month focused on shared root causes of problems between social justice and sustainability issues. This month will focus on shared root solutions!
Kurt Love grew up in Shelton, CT, earned his Ph.D. in science education at the University of Connecticut and is an associate professor at Central Connecticut State University in the Department of Educational Leadership, Policy, and Instructional Technology. He taught middle school science in Hartford, West Hartford, and Cheshire. He worked with the Environmental Sciences Magnet School in Hartford developing sustainability based project learning experiences for PreK-8 students. He has worked with teachers and students in school districts throughout the central Connecticut region. He is currently writing a book entitled, “Reclaiming Education for Sustainability and Peace.”
Parking situation: Free parking available on Sisson and Sherman. Very limited parking in the lot to the left of the restaurant. The entrance to the restaurant parking lot is one house down on the left side of the restaurant. If you park in the lot to the right of the restaurant by the florist you risk being towed. Green Drinks Hartford is a monthly happy hour for people to connect, have fun, and discuss environmental issues and other important issues of the day. The event is from 6 pm – 9 pm. The facilitated conversation will take place from 7 pm – 8 pm.
