The Intersections Between Economics and Education
February 15 @ 11:00 am - 3:30 pm EST

In 2019, Connecticut Governor Ned Lamont brought in over 400 investors for an Opportunity Zone conference to discuss the power of private/public partnership to support economic growth. Now during post pandemic recovery efforts, its time to revisit this conversation and learn about solutions to help strengthen our economy and communities
As we are well aware, the COVID-19 pandemic exposed many of our state’s economic and community vulnerabilities. The hopeful news is that pandemic recovery efforts will present an opportunity to rethink how to best allocate investment capital to help restore, build, and grow our neighborhoods while also strengthening our economy.
In honor of Black History Month, the Connecticut Parents Union is hosting “The Intersections Between Economics and Education – Solutions to Strengthen Connecticut’s Economy and Communities”.
We are excited to confirm Alex B. Johnson the President and CEO of Capital Workforce Partners and David Sillaman as featured speakers at the event. David is the founder and CEO of Eazy Do It Inc., an opportunity zone agency and is recognized as a national top 10 OZ expert.
There will be an interactive panel discussion with real estate developers, Department of Economic and Community Development, education and community leaders.
This event also presents a very special opportunity to honor the late State Representative “Q” Williams by discussing the issues that he cared so deeply about and worked tirelessly to identify solutions for – ensuring fair access to opportunities that improve our quality of life. Now is the time to chart a path that empowers everyone to face the future with confidence and hope.
